Coaching, Therapy, and Support
As mental health professionals with decades of schooling, we get it. That’s why we created a safe space just for you.
College can be a time filled with many unknowns and life transitions. We work with college students and young adults on managing anxiety and stress, relationship concerns, improving coping skills, productivity while balancing perfectionism, improving self-esteem, and how to clarify life values and create more meaning. Our clients are used to doing it all (and doing it well) on their own, but want to be more effective in managing life stressors and live happier and more peaceful lives.
Therapy for college life in Florida
Academic stress may be the single most dominant stress factor that affects the mental well-being of college students.
If you’re ready to gain more self-awareness, manage thoughts and feelings, learn coping skills for anxiety & stress, and find more genuine happiness and purpose in life — you’re in the right place. 🫶🏼
Your twenties and thirties are a fun, yet challenging phase of life filled with many overwhelming changes. We understand the challenges of managing schoolwork, careers, family, and increasing responsibilities while trying to fully experience your “best years”. We often work with high school seniors and college students on stress and anxiety management, ADHD issues, friendship and relationship issues, college/work preparation, perfectionism, improving self-esteem, and how to clarify life values and create a more meaningful life.
Attending graduate or medical school is challenging enough. Having an anxiety or ADHD while attending graduate school can become exhausting, self-defeating, and stressful. As doctoral level psychologists, we understand the challenges higher education students are faced with regularly including the difficulties in balancing work/family life, imposter syndrome, the expectations of performing to unreasonably high standards, and the stress of applying and interviewing for each new position, as well as issues specific to mental health such as panic attacks, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and perfectionism.

Specialized, short-term, and effective solutions to your problems:
-
ACT is a science-based model of behavior change. Our high school and college students learn skills and strategies that they can immediately incorporate in their lives. We often focus on the science of genuine happiness, new ways of responding to difficult emotions, how to take the power out of anxiety or ADHD, and how to break free from self-criticism and self-hate.
-
CBT is a gold standard treatment for many mental health conditions including anxiety and ADHD. We teach our high school and college students to recognize how distortions in their thinking may be creating problems and how to reevaluate them in light of reality, to better understand the behavior and motivation of others, how to use problem-solving skills to cope with difficult situations, and how to develop a greater sense of confidence in their own abilities.
-
DBT is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy, but specially adapted for individuals who feel emotions very intensely. DBT therapy for college students can help you learn practical skills to manage your emotions and reactions in a healthy way and build stronger and more fulfilling relationships with yourself and others.
-
Our psychologists have advanced training in CBT-i and help teens and young adults create healthy sleep routines and improve their sleep. CBT-i is a gold standard treatment for behavioral sleep problems such as difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep and early waking.
-
EFT is based on the idea that emotions are not the only important factors in our lives, but the key to who we are. We focus on understanding attachment systems, increasing awareness of emotion, enhancing emotion regulation, and transforming emotion. Learning to regulate and cope with difficult emotions is a valuable skill for teens and young adults to have in order to have successful and meaningful future relationships.
-
Our psychologists have extensive training on behavioral treatment for ADHD. We often work on self-acceptance and core values, motivation, organizational skills training, and emotion regulation to increase productivity and success.
-
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a science-based approach for treating OCD and related anxiety patterns. Our high school, college students, and young adults learn practical skills they can use right away to break the cycle of intrusive thoughts, avoidance, and reassurance. We focus on building tolerance for uncertainty, responding differently when anxiety shows up, and gradually facing feared situations without doing the rituals that keep OCD loud. Over time, our clients learn how to get their time and confidence back without needing anxiety to disappear first.

It’s clear that she cares not just about doing therapy “right,” but about being fully present, human, and respectful of each client’s lived experience. Our Therapeutic Style for College Students and Young Adult Therapy
Our psychologists hold a modern view of mental health treatment. One that is holistic, person-centered, non-judgmental, and most importantly, goal directed. We are firm believers in the healing powers of knowledge, and you will often find us sharing bits of neuroscience and evidence-based information in our sessions aimed at helping you discover meaningful solutions to your problems. While talk therapy and emotional support have their time and place in our treatment sessions, we primarily view therapy as a space for clients to immerse themselves in knowledge regarding their issues.
Why? Because we know that clients who are knowledgeable and educated about their symptoms make better and faster progress. Knowledge is power, and we believe therapy should be productive in that you leave our sessions feeling more knowledgable and thus empowered to create your desired change. We recognize that therapy is an investment of both time and money, and we believe in holding ourselves accountable to supporting our clients in improving their overall quality of life in the most efficient way possible.
